Alongside his artistic work, Galay is devoted to music education. Through decades of performance and work with piano students, he developed his own piano technique, created a method for piano beginners, From Do to Sol, and a method for more advanced, From La to La-La-La, and excelled in teaching improvisation with unprecedented achievements in the field.

With his daughter, cellist Racheli Galay, they created the Classical Improvisation Method-Improlight for Classical Musicians, and both improvised for audiences in different countries and conducted Improvisation Workshops in contemporary, classical, and klezmer styles, for all ages, levels and instruments.
